New Delhi, Baba Ramdev: The sudden announcement of the demonetisation of the government has brought several problems to the people for the short term at least. One of the problem is faced by the families who have weddings at their home, they are facing cash crunch at this point of time due to government's sudden move of scrapping Rs 500 and Rs 1000 currency notes.

The government on Thursday allowed families planning for the marriage to show the wedding card and withdraw up to Rs 2.5 lakh.

However, the remarks of yoga guru Baba Ramdev on the demonetisation move, may bring some smile at an event on NDTV .

"Many in the BJP are bachelors...they didn't realise it was wedding season...that was the mistake," Ramdev said chuckling.

The demonetisation of two big denominations has led to high percent decrease in the circulation of money. In india, November and December are the most popular months for wedding season and this has severely affected the moral of the people having weeding in their house.

"If they (government) had done this around 15 days or one month later then their weddings wouldn't have been so badly affected. One good thing that has come out of all this...people cannot demand dowry," he sad.

The Government today announced some measure to decrese the problem faced by the people, Economic Affairs Secretary Shaktikanta said that "We decided that for marriage ceremonies, up to 250,000 rupees will be permitted to be withdrawn from the bank account and it has to be drawn... from the father, mother or the person getting married.

It was a situation of dilemma for the families who had withdrawn the money before the demonetisation decision by the Central government was announced. In fact, grooms and the family members of brides are lining up at banks and ATMs.
