New Delhi: In recent years, there has been a lot of increase in the number of donations received by political parties, and the BJP is getting bigger share in them. It is revealed in the report released by ADR (Association of Democratic Reforms), an organization working for the election reform. ADR has analyzed the corporate funds received from all the national parties between 2011-12 and 2015-16.

According to the report, in the last 4 years political parties received a donation of Rs 956.77 crore. The data is in-between the financial year 2012-13 to 2015-16, the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) got Rs 705 crore, while the Congress got a corporate fund of Rs 198 crore.

According to the ADR report, during these four years, corporate and business houses donated a total of Rs 956.77 crore to five national parties. In this case, the Congress is second with 198.16 crore rupees, which is much less than the BJP at the top.

The Communist Party of India (CPI) and the Marxist Communist Party (CPI-M) have got the least corporate funding, which is 4% and 17% respectively.

In this ADR report, BJP, Congress, CPI, CPI (M) and Nationalist Congress Party (NCP) are considered to be the national parties.

The Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) of Mayawati has got the status of the National Party, but the BSP has not been included in the ADR report.

The ADR says that the BSP has not been included because the party itself has announced that it has not received any donation of more than Rs. 20,000 from any donor during this period.

It has also been said in the report that these five national parties have received a donation of Rs 384.04 crore from 1,933 such donors, who have not mentioned PAN number in the donation form.

Apart from this, 1,546 donors who have donated a total of Rs 355.08 crore to these parties have not even mentioned their addresses.

The funny thing is that the amount of 99 per cent (159.59 crore rupees) BJP has got the sum of such number of people without PAN number and without address.

It is also a coincidence that 60% of the total amount of money received in these periods was found in the financial year 2014-15 only when Lok Sabha elections were held in the country.

According to the ADR report, among the highest donations to political parties in this period, Rs. 260.87 crore, Satya Electoral Trust topped the list. Satya Electoral Trust did not donate any donations in the 2012-13 financial year and in the next three years, it contributed a total of 35 transactions to the highest amount.

BJP has announced a donation of Rs 193.62 crore from Satya Electoral Trust, while Congress has declared Rs 57.25 crore and NCP has recieved Rs 10 crore.

The General Electoral Trust, established by the Indian government after the electoral trust scheme launched in 2013, is the second largest donor in this period.

The General Electoral Trust gave a donation of Rs 70.70 crore to the BJP and Rs 54.10 crore to the Congress during this period.

At the same time, the Association and Union are the top contributors to the CPI (M) and CPI. The CPI (M) got Rs 1.09 crore from various associations in this period, whereas CPI got a donation of Rs 14.64 crore from 15 associations and union.

In the financial year 2012-13, the real estate sector was the top among those who donated the national parties and in this financial year, all the parties received a total donation of Rs 16.95 crore from the real estate sector.

In this too, BJP topped the list of highest donors. The BJP got a total of Rs 15.96 crore from the real estate sector in the financial year 2012-13, whereas the Congress got a donation of Rs 95 lakh.
