Union Education Minister Dr. Ramesh Pokhriyal is going to hold a special meeting with the state secretaries on Monday. The 12th board examinations are likely to be discussed in this meeting. Union Education Minister Ramesh Pokhriyal said on Monday that he would attend a meeting with the state education secretaries on May 17, 2021, at 11 am. In this meeting, the Minister of Education will discuss the situation of the Corona crisis and its impact on education, as well as the National Education Policy (NEP).

On May 14, the Central Board of Secondary Education said that no decision has been taken regarding the pending examination of the 12th board. A senior CBSE official told PTI that it is clarified that no such decision (regarding cancellation) has been taken regarding the 12th board exam, which is being speculated. He said that if any decision is taken in this matter, it will be officially informed.

In the wake of the Kovid-19 epidemic, the board had announced to cancel the 10th board exam and postpone the 12th board exam on 14 April. This was decided in a high-level meeting chaired by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. The CBSE board exams are usually held every year in the month of February-March but this year it was going to commence from May 4 this year.

The board had said that the 12th board examination is postponed and it will be reviewed after 1st June 2021 and students will be given notice about the exam at least 15 days in advance. At the same time, CBSE announced the policy of giving marks in relation to the 10th board examination this month. Under this, 20 marks in each subject will be given on the basis of internal assessment and 80 marks on the performance of students in various tests or examinations conducted in the year.
