New Delhi: A Delhi court has given Congress President Sonia Gandhi, party vice president Rahul Gandhi and four others three weeks to respond to the petition filed by BJP leader Subramanian Swamy in the National Herald case. Swamy has asked for some documents from the party in his petition.

The Metropolitan Magistrate Lavalin given them time till July 22, there lawyer said that he did not get the copy of Swam’s application. Swamy has filed a personal complaint. The court considered the petitions of Congress leaders and instructed the master to hand them a copy of the application.

In her complaint, Swamy accused Sonia and Rahul Gandhi and others of fraud and misappropriation of funds. Swamy has alleged that by paying just Rs 50 lakh, Young Indian Pvt Ltd got the right to recover Rs 90.25 crore, which was outstanding on the Congress of Associate Journals Limited (AJL).

Sonia, Rahul and other accused Congress members Motilal Vora and Oscar Fernandes and Suman Dubey and Sam Pitroda have denied the charges against themselves. The owner has sought documents from AJL. In this, the copy of the bank statement filed with the Registrar of Companies, the details of the decision to change the loan to the share capital, the balance sheet, the year the loan was sanctioned, the accountant's report along with the account of profit and loss of that year.
