Saphala Ekadashi Vrat Katha

According to the legend, there were five sons of Mahishman king in Champavati city. The eldest son Lumbhak was characterless. He was always involved in blaspheming the deities, eating meat and doing other sinful deeds. Because of his bad deeds, the king threw him out of the kingdom. After leaving the house, Lumbak started living in the forest.
On the tenth night of Krishna Paksha, he could not sleep due to cold and by morning he became lifeless due to cold. During the day, when the cold had subsided after the sun, he regained consciousness and started collecting fruits in the forest. After this, in the evening after sunset, cursing his luck, he placed all the fruits in the root of the peepal tree, and he said, 'May Lakshmipati Lord Vishnu be pleased with these fruits.
After this, even the whole night of Ekadashi could not sleep contemplating his sorrows. In this way, the Ekadashi fast of Lumbhak was completed unknowingly. Due to the effect of this fast, he was inclined towards good deeds. After that, his father gave his whole kingdom and went to heat. After a few days, Lumbhak had a son named Manogya, who after handing over the kingdom, Lumbhak himself succeeded in attaining salvation by engaging in Vishnu hymns.
