Mumbai, Kapil Sharma: A FIR was filled against actor Kapil Sharma under the environment protection act and MRTP act for destroying mangroves in versova.

MRTP (Monopolies and Restrictive Trade Practices) Act. 1. The act came into force from 1st June, 1970. The act aims to prevent concentration of economic power, provide for control of monopolies, and protect consumer interest.

He has constructed new bungalow recently and has been been booked for allegedly dumping the debris, from his  near mangroves behind his bungalow in suburban Versova and also making illegal construction near it.

Earliar he had kicked a controversy by alleging that he had been asked to pay a bribe of Rs 5 lakh by an official of BMC and had twitted to the Prime minister with it. The BMC, however, alleged that Sharma had flouted norms not only in his Versova office building but also at his apartment in suburban Goregaon.
