Bhagar Singh, Sukheo and Rajguru – These three were the real heroes of our freedom struggle against the British rule. They were hanged on 23rd march, 1931 at 7:30 PM. They had surrendered to Birtish administration. They were protesting against the death of Lala Lajpat Rai (he was killed by Britishers in lathi charge). Bhagat Singh along with Batukeshwar Dutt threw two bomb and leaflets in Legislative Assembly.

The effect of bomb was only to fill assembly with smoke. After throwing bomb they both started shouting slogans of “Inquilab Zindabad”(English – Long live Revolution). In the leaflets, it was mentioned about that they were protesting against the death of Lala jee and also to show their dissatisfaction against the Trade Disputes and the Public Safety Bill.  No one was declared dead after this incidence. Since they stood there, Police arrested them immediately.

Bhagat Singh met with Sukhdeo and Thapar in the jail. All these three were did fasting for 116 days against the bad quality of food being given to them.

Question – How is Bhagat Singh hanging related to Valentines day?

Answer - Some of the more intelligent people have started spreading the news that all three were hanged on 14th Feb (Valentines Day). Following message is being spread :

“Most of us know 14th Feb as Valentine Day.. But in the morning of 14.02.1931 at Lahore, the legendries were hanged to their deaths. We only celebrate valentine day.. Let us pass this message to every 1 we know, to salute and pay respect to their sacrifice also.. Let Us Be An Indian First..!!"

It’s a request to all that do not spread rumor on such a sensitive matter. If people do one round of review then they can easily come to know about the facts. Out intention of writing this news is only to make people aware with truth. There is no point in relating Valentines day with death anniversary of Bhagat Singh.
