Goa, November 13: Prime Minister Narendra Modi, who usually looks strict made a emotional speech, while addressing the people in Goa over the issue of demonetisation of Rs 500, Rs 1000 currency notes. He sought another 50 days.

"Yes, I also feel the pain. These steps taken were not a display of arrogance," PM Modi said about crowds that have thronged the banks and ATMs from Wednesday.

"I have seen poverty and understand people's problems, I was not born to sit on a chair of high office," PM Modi said choking and pausing for a while. "Whatever I had, my family, my home. I left all of it for the nation," he continued in a trembling voice as crowd applauds.

"I know the forces up against me. They may not let me live. They may ruin me, because their loot of 70 years is in trouble. But I am prepared," he declared. He mentioned that his government has been given a strong mandate in 2014 which was rooted in high expectations along with the fight against corruption.
