Gujrat, Ahmedabad: Mukesh Rawal, the renowned artist from Gujarat and a television actor,  was found dead on the railway tracks near Kandivali station on Tuesday morning as per media reports.

The Government Railway Police (GRP) officials mentioned that he died in an accident while he may have been crossing the railway tracks. The 66-year-old Rawal essayed the character of Vibhishan in Ramanand Sagar's Ramayana, a mythological show.

The Kandivali station master informed the GRP about the accident at around 9:30 in the morning. He was rushed to a public hospital nearby but was pronounced brought dead. Since he was not carrying a phone or wallet, it was not easy to immediately establish his identity.

As per the railway police press release, the accident took place when the 65-year-old actor was travelling for the dubbing of an upcoming Gujarati film. His body was found at Kandivali railway track yesterday morning at 9.33 AM, but his relatives identified him only this morning.

 Rawal, a known name in Gujarati TV and in the film circuit, is best remembered for playing Vibhishan in Ramayan, a retelling of the mythological epic. He also found fame on shows such as Hasratein and Koi Apna Sa.
