Bengaluru (Karnataka), SM Krishna: One of the most former Karnataka congress 84 years old leader Somanahalli Mallaiah Krishna has resigned from the membership of the party.

As per the source he have resigned and sent a letter to Congress President Sonia Gandhi informing her about his decision.

It is still not much clear if he has resigned from all party post like he is the member of the Congress Working Committee.

He first become a Member of Parliament (MP) in 1968 from Mandya.

Krishna, who was the Karnataka state Chief Minister from 1999 to 2004 and a former Maharashtra Governor for the period 2004-2008,

Somanahalli Mallaiah Krishna was also made the minister for external affairs in Dr. Manmohan Singh's cabinet, and resigned from it in 2012. Post 2012 He returned to the his state but since then he has been keeping a low profile.

The Other party members are surprised over the decision and many are not sure or have knowledge about it.

One question of being sidelined within the party Home Minister G Parameshwara said the party have not sidelined him and he is the most favorite leader in the state.

This will impact the Karnataka politics as on the grass root level many youth and people are more influenced to SM krishan. People often have the saying some good work were done when SM Krishna was the CM of the State. A bad news for Chief Minister Siddaramaiah who is facing the aggressive BJP.
