A video of All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) chief and Lok Sabha MP Asaduddin Owaisi on Wednesday stoked a big controversy, making a communally inciteful 'Muslim-Mukt Bharat' remark against the BJP at a Hyderabad rally has surfaced.

In the video, recorded on Wednesday night, Owaisi made the controversial remarks while addressing a rally in poll-bound Telangana. Owaisi is issuing a characteristically fiery speech, where he accuses the BJP of attempting to make India devoid of Muslims and minorities. Speaking in Bahadurpur on Wednesday, Owaisi said (BJP chief) Amit Shah visited Telangana and said he would rid Hyderabad of Majlis. He said

    " Amit Shah aake Telangana mein boley Hyderabad ko majlis se mukt karoonga. Kaun sa mukt karenge aap? Kahan se mukt karenge...Aap majlis mukt nahi, Bharat se musalmaanon ko mukt karna chahte hain. Bharat se musalmanon ka alienation karna chahte hain."

Owaisi then says that he is aware of the import of his statements but attempts to wash his hands off any ensuing controversy by adding as a post-script, "Now wait till tomorrow, this will be running on TV channels saying Owaisi has provoked something"

The remark by the AIMIM chief is not alone, it follows a number of others leaders that have been made remarks, like Congress leaders, accusing the BJP and RSS of extreme intentions. In London, The Congress President Rahul Gandhi had equated the RSS to the Muslim Brotherhood. Another Congress leader Shashi Tharoor has said that if the BJP come into power in 2019 they would create a Hindu Pakistan. 

Responding to Owaisi's attack, allegedly directed towards Amit Shah, BJP spokesperson Gaurav Bhatia said:

"It is most unfortunate that people like Owaisi who thrive on hatemongering and spreading venom are making such comments to divide our country which is progressing on the path of development being led by PM Modi."

 'Sabka saath sabka vikas' is the mantra for the BJP. AIMIM has been making divisive statements. The party name also talks about only one religion and statements also cater only to Muslim community. I would only say that Mr Owaisi only make responsible statements, spread love after the Diwali festival, not hatred. He's also irrelevant in Indian politics. He's only relevant when he makes such divisive statements."
