Drinking to be banned in Goa, CM Parrikar declares


Panaji: In Goa, in the coming days drinking alcohol in public places will be banned, the government is issue a notification next month. Goa's Manohar Parrikar has said that the government has decided to ban drinking alcohol in public places. CM said that notification will be issued by next month.

CM Parrikar said that in order to check the use of alcohol in public places, the meeting will be held in the next 15 days with the administration officials.

CM said that the ban will be also around liquor shops, those who allow to do shop will be punished. Parrikar said that it has been seen that people drink alcohol on the side of the road and break their bottles there, which causes problems of common people.
