Mumbai, TCS: Tata Sons today named TCS Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director(MD) N Chandrasekaran as its new Chairman. It was speculated for over two months, and finally today after the unceremonious sacking of Cyrus Mistry he is the new Chairman.
He is commonly known as 'Chandra', He was chosen to step into the shoes of interim Chairman Ratan Tata, who took over as the Chairman on October 24, 2016 after the removal of Mistry.
Chandra is one of the youngest CEOs of the Tata Group, born in Oct 6, 1963 Earlier he was CEO & managing director (MD) of Tata Consultancy Services. N Chandrasekaran took over as the CEO on October 6, 2009 before to which he was COO and Executive Director of TCS.
He will take over the job from 22nd February.
R Gopinath will be the new CEO of the company and N G Subramanyam will be the new COO of the company.
