New York Times does it again, spreads fake message against India over Afghan evacuation

News Claim: The NYT claimed that India would prioritize the repartition of Hindus and Sikhs from Afghanistan.

Viral message on WhatsApp today & other Social Media claims:

India said it would prioritize the repatriation of Hindus and Sikhs from Afghanistan. The move drew comparisons to a recent citizenship law that discriminates against Muslims.

News Verification: As the Taliban’s took over Afghanistan, several videos emerged from the country showing several Afghani people climbing on the Plane from outside in order to run away from the country. There are even reports of few people tied themselves to the wheels of the plane, in a bid to escape.  However, the American news website was still ready to spread fake news against India.

The NYT own country America fled from Afghanistan

Kanchan Gupta a senior Advisor to the Ministry of Information & Broadcasting tweeted the other side of the real information. He said, “Once again @nytimes found grossly lying through its teeth. #India has promptly introduced an emergency e-visa for #Afghanistan nationals. No religious criteria were mentioned. Apart from Hindus and Sikhs, India has said it stands by and will offer all assistance to Afghan friends. 1n” He further said, “Instead of peddling gross distortions and #FakeNews on #India, it would be better if @nytimes were to focus on #US abandoning #Afghanistan and leaving Afghans to their fate. Neither Operation Infinite Justice nor Operation Enduring Freedom. But that’s Western Media for you.”

Few people questioned twitter strange behaviour this time asking, “Why this tweet by New York Times is not marked manipulated or deleted by @Twitter yet?”

News verdict: False
