Facts Check Analysis: The video is widely shared and passed off as video from India, West Bengal.

As can be seen in the 2 minutes 28 seconds long video, a man shooting a deer and killing it later has surfaced. No doubt the video is disturbing, however it is misleading as we have no information about the legality of the video and we don’t have any information on the person shooting the deer. 

Many social media users did not like the video mainly because the person in the video first lures the deer by giving food and then after taking a aim at the innocent animal. 

Many users on whatsapp, twitter have assumed this video to be from India; however the video is from Bangladesh. 

A longer version of the video can be found on youtube, titled as “Killing Deer”, the video was first uploaded on Jul 11, 2015. The information given here is, “This video shows a man shooting a deer in close range in an enclosed farm. As he does this in cool head, someone else films the incident, including slaughtering of the bullet-injured deer. Later, the group poses for their “heroic accomplishment” with the slaughtered animal lying in front of them. And they are heard cheering for what they term “legal shooting”. The video has been collected from the facebook page of Moin Uddin.”

The incident was reported in Daily Star, a Bangladeshi news outlet. The man in the video is Moin Uddin, he is from Bangladesh, but lives in Australian.

Moin Uddin, has given his entire justification of the act on facebook terming it as legal.

In a shocking display of animal brutality, a man has released a video clip of his killing a deer in a private farm in Chittagong, sparking outrage on social media. In the video uploaded on Facebook on July 4, Moin Uddin was seen first shooting the hind and then slaughtering her with a knife, an act described as sick and inhumane by social media users.
