What is moderation policy that is going to affect the 12th results?

The Central Board of Secondary Education is in news recently over its marks moderation policy. The CBSE board, one of the biggest board for exams of students removed the moderation policy this year. The reason behind this was to keep the check on the number of students scoring more than 95% marks.

Moderation Policy is a method of providing grace marks to students who fall short by few marks in passing the exams. This also gives grace marks in extra difficult questions in the paper or for any question with errors.

The difficulty level of the question was decided by the CBSE by forming a expert panel after receiving good enough complaints from students who faced the examinations.

Because of this policy the percent of marks increased in the CBSE results from 2008 to to 2014, more number of students go above 95 percent marks.
