New Delhi: Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) has declared the results of Civil Services Examination 2016. K R Nandini of Karnataka has secured first place. Second place was given by Anmol Sher Singh Bedi and third place G.Ronanki. The examination was held for 1209 seats. Rankings of 1099 students have been issued. According to the results of the examination, 500 general candidates, 347 OBC candidates, 163 SC candidates and 89 ST candidates have passed.

There are three women in the top 10. Apart from Nandini, Soumya Pandey and Shweta Chauhan also stayed in Top-10. In the result, 500 candidates were elected from General category, 347 from OBC, 163 from SC and 89 candidates from ST. Candidates who pass the Civil Services are selected for the Indian Administrative Service, the Indian Foreign Service, the Indian Police Service and the Central Service A and B.

For the third consecutive year, the female candidate is UPSC Civil Services have topped the examinations. Before Nandini, Tina Dabi in 2015 and IRA Singhal topped in 2014. In the 2014 UPSC Civil Services Examinations, there were women in Top-3.

When we start preparation of any competitive examinations, We always aim to be the person who can secure the maximum marks in the examination. UPSC is also the similar competitive exam which most of the people love to go into it but only a few able to crack the exam.

Nandini K R, an officer of the Indian Revenue Service, is at present undergoing training at the National Academy of Customs, Excise and Narcotics in Faridabad.
Nandini, who hails from Karnataka, said being an IAS officer was always her dream.

“It is like a dream come true. I always wanted to be an IAS officer,” she told PTI.
