New Delhi, November 9: In a major step to put a full stop on the circulation of black money, Prime Minister Narendra Modi, under BJP government on Tuesday told the nation that currency notes of Rs 500 and Rs 1000 will be scrapped, effective from midnight. That means new notes of 500 and 2000 will be in the market in another two days from Thursday.
All except the political parties leaders, come out in support of the visionary idea of the PM, others are slamming him for it. Long queues can be seen at the petrol pumps and common man is upset because Rs 500 denomination is the one they survive off. But still as we talked to the people at the petrol pump, found no complaining, actually the common man is happy that such a bold and deceives step is taken by the prime minister, Narendra modi.
One leader who came openly and full opposition of this bold step was, the chief minister of West Bengal, Mamata Banerjee said, "While I'm strongly against black money, corruption, deeply concerned about common people, small traders. How they will buy essentials tomorrow?"
She took it to Twitter to express his rage against the decision. she said, "This is a financial chaos and disaster let loose on the common people of India."
"The PM could not get back the promised black money from abroad from the rich so a drama to divert his failure," her next tweet followed.
"I want to know from PM how my poorest brothers sisters, who’ve received their week's hard earned wage in one 500 re note will buy ata,chal, tomo?" she asserted.
"Heartless and ill- conceived blow on the common people and the middle class in the fake name of anti-corruption," she wrote.
"Rs100 notes not available in banks. Without availability in market how will people,small farmrs,all employees,labourers purchase essentials," Mamata said.
"WITHDRAW THIS DRACONIAN DECISION," Banerjee tweeted and the post was further shared by Delhi chief minister Arvind Kejriwal.
