India, Mumbai: Flying out from Mumbai would not be that easy from February to March 30, 2019. So if you are planning to go out of Mumbai think twice before you book the flight from Mumbai.  

Mumbai’s Chhatrapati Shivaji Maharaj International Airport is to remain closed for three days in a week from February 7 to March 30, 2019. Will cause delay in other flight and cancellations of . Flights to and from the airport on certain days during this period, due to extensive runway repairs, which already started today.

Closure time table: the times on this days remains from 11:00 Am to evening 5PM. According to a CSIA official, the airport will operate full day on March 21, 2019.

Total Airplanes affected:

As per the information, a total of around 230 flights on each of these days would be cancelled. The airport is known to handle about 950 incoming flights every day, and an average of 36 flights every hour. During this time, passengers flying in and out of Mumbai will face difficulties because of cancellation and rescheduling of flights. It is advisable to book your tickets in Advance, before moving into the Airport.

Tickets are expected to shoot up as much as 80 percent. “This will push up air fares across all the travels, as many passengers will prefer flying out of Mumbai on days when the runway is not shut.

The routes and timings of some international and domestic flights will be changed. Passengers whose tickets are canceled, would be refunded and, if possible, will be allowed to travel in another aircraft, Spoke Mumbai Airport spokespersons.
