The girl has said in the complaint that she was returning home after celebrating the Independence Day celebrations in her school on Tuesday, and at the same time a person raped her. The police said that the victim's age is 12-13 years, and she has been admitted to a government hospital for medical examination and treatment.


Police said that the person had sex with the VIII grade student of Government Senior Secondary School in the Children's Traffic Park of Sector 23. Chandigarh Senior Superintendent of Police Ish Singhal and other police officials have reached the spot. All of them were participating in the Independence Day celebrations at parade grounds in Sector 17.

Police officials said that the victim said that when she was passing by the traffic park, the accused pulled her near a drain and raped her with a knife. This incident happened at a time when there is a high alert on Independence Day in Chandigarh. Many government officials remain near the traffic gate of the traffic park. This incident happened in Chandigarh, when a few days ago Vikas Barala, son of BJP state president Subhash Barla, chased Varnika Kundu and tried to kidnap her.
