India, Itanagar, Just a couple of months, back Supreme Court had reinstated the Congress government in Arunachal Pradesh, now once again 44 of 45 Congress MLAs including chief minister Pema Khandu have joined the People's Party of Arunachal (PPA) on Friday.

The only party worker from congress Khandu.Nabam Tuki is the only MLA who has stayed with the Congress. Tuki was replaced as CM with Khandu in July this year.

He was the person who led the government in the political crisis in the state led to first Tuki government falling in January 2016, imposition of President’s rule and installation of the late Kalikho Pul government for a short span.

The CM and MLAs have decided to consciously merge with the regional party and that BJP has nothing to do with this, said Kiren Rijiju, Union Minister of State for (MoS) Home Affairs

"Our government inherited a cumulative deficit of about Rs 3,700 crore. Till date, we have cleared liabilities of about Rs 1,200 crore but this has been paid out of the resources meant for this year. Another Rs 2,500 crore liability is pending," Khandu said

We have to wait and watch to see what comes out of this, whether PPA will align with BJP. In the Assembly of 60, Congress had 47 MLAs, BJP 11 and two independent. Status of two Congress MLAs is yet to be decided as they put in their papers before the recent series of political developments in the state.
