Eight SIMI operatives on Monday fled from high security Bhopal Central Jail after killing a guard.
A video clip from the encounter shows a policeman shooting a man from a point blank range after being provoked by the crowd around, says a report in Times of India.
In another video clip, a policeman is seen taking out a knife like weapon from the pocket of a dead operative.
Earlier, a villager went on camera claiming that the ‘terrorists’ attacked the police with stones before they were killed by a joint team of police and ATS.
An ATS member had also claimed that there was weapons on the fleeing terrorists but stones.
However, this was contradicted by IG Police Yogesh Choudhary who claimed that the SIMI activists were in possession of firearms and live cartridges.
When asked about the video clips of the purported encounter, Choudhary said those footages would be probed.
