New Delhi: On 31st July, prime minister Narender Modi announced Rs 2 lakh every for the next of blood relatives of those who lost their lives in the floods in Assam and Rajasthan.

Prime Minister Narender Modi also declared Rs 50,000 each for those who seriously harmed and injured in the floods in the two states that is Assam and Rajasthan, the Prime Minister's Office (PMO) said.

Millions of households had been damaged and losses to rural area were being assessed. Over 4000 and more animals have been killed due to the floods.

The two states Assam and Rajasthan have go through on large scale demolition besides loss of lives in the floods. Prime minister Narender Modi has already visited Gujarat and is expected to visit to Assam to take stock of the flood situation there on August 1. 

On Sunday, while addressing nation through his monthly radio program 'Mann Ki Baat', PM had said huge relief is being supply to the flood-hit area and crop insurance companies have been asked to be proactive in agreement of claims of the affected farmers. 

Prime Minister had also declared that the situation in flood-affected areas including Assam, Gujarat, Rajasthan and West Bengal is being fully monitored and several agencies like the Army, the IAF, the National Disaster Response Force (NDRF) and paramilitary forces are engaged in rescue and relief operation.
