New Delhi, winter session: It looks like the winter session of the parliament is no more a winter session, instead it is heading towards washed out session. The deadlock over demonetisation leading to wastage of 15 days of the winter session of Parliament and zero work on productivity being done.

To end the deadlock, The President Pranab Mukherjee urged the parliamentarian on Thursday He said, disruption of Parliament is not acceptable at all, "For God's sake, do your job. You are meant to transact business in Parliament," Mukherjee said.

"Dharnas can be organised anywhere else," he said asking all concerned to debate and discuss issues of public importance in the House.

The winter session started on 16th November and it 17th day of the winter parliament and only another 1 week is remaining for the parliament.

"The majority never participates in disruptions. Only the minority comes to the well, shouts slogans, stops proceeding and creates a situation," Mukherjee said.

"I am convinced that the country needs electoral reforms. We should (first) have a public debate and thereafter make the reforms," he said.

Hepitched for the passage of Women Reservation Bill in Lok Sabha saying, "The bill is pending for a long time in Parliament and representation of women is abysmally low, it is totally unacceptable.

The government has repeatedly asked the Opposition to have a debate on the demonetisation issue rather than disrupting the proceedings.

Both the Lok Sabha and the Rajya Sabha have failed to transact any substantive business as Opposition has been continuously creating pandemonium, leading to repeated adjournments of the two Houses.

Meanwhile, Lok Sabha Speaker Sumitra Mahajan today warned of "harsh steps" if opposition members did not stop protesting and disrupting others who were speaking.

 Opposition members raised slogans demanding a debate with voting over the issue and Prime Minister Narendra Modi'sNarendra Modi's presence in the house.
