Madhya Pradesh, Digvijaya Singh: Senior Congress leader Digvijay Singh was removed from general secretory’s post in states of Goa and Karnataka on Saturday evening. This is a serious blow to the profile of the old leader in the Congress Party. The decision has been taken taking into consideration of congress party failing to make the government in Goa, though having a major number of seats.

Digvijaya had come in for a lot of criticism after the Congress failed to form the government in Goa. Assembly election in Karnataka is to be held in 2018 and removal of Digvijay from General Secretory of Karnataka is mainly because of the displeasure with Goa failure.

A ChellaKumar has been appointed as the AICC in-charge in Goa and Amit Deshmukh as the secretary of the party in the state. A. Chellakumar is an Congress politician and former Member of the Legislative Assembly of Tamil Nadu.

Digvijay singh has alleged Manohar Parrikar of cheating the people of Goa by robbing the mandate of Goa people. Singh has accused Nitin Gadkari of aggrasive shopping of MLA in goa.

In Goa, Congress had got 17 seats, whereas BJP has got just 13 seats. The NJP was quick to get the support of MGP and GFP to form the government under Parrikar. The BJP got together a comfortable 21 seats to form the Government in Goa.

“My special thanks to honourable member Digvijaya Singh, who happened to be in Goa but did nothing so that I could form the government,” Manohar  Parrikar said in Rajya Sabha.
