However, amidst the ongoing protests in the country, it has also been made clear that 'Agneepath', the new model of recruitment in the three forces, will not be withdrawn at any cost. Meanwhile, it was also reported that the old soldiers of the army would be sent under the Agniveer scheme.

News Verification: In a press conference on Tuesday, Additional Secretary, Department of Military Affairs, Lt Gen Anil Puri, has termed the information as fake, in which it was being claimed that old soldiers of the army would be sent under the Agniveer scheme. Lieutenant General Anil Puri said in his statement that this is a matter of security of our country. Somebody spread a rumor that old soldiers of the army will be sent under the Agniveer scheme. This is a fake information.

He further said in his statement that no change has been made in the recruitment process. The military process will remain unchanged. We will take a commitment and the candidates will have to submit an undertaking that they were not involved in any arson/ sabotage. He said that no other country in the world has the same demographic dividend as India. 50% of our youth are below 25 years of age. Army should take maximum advantage of this.On the other hand, about the Aginpath scheme, he said that this scheme balances 3 things, firstly, the profile of the youth for the armed forces, technical knowledge and people who are fit to join the army and thirdly to prepare the person for the future.

News Verdict: This claim turns out to be completely fake information.
