Panic at Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya,19 students test positive for COVID
Mumbai: 19 students of Jawahar Navodaya Vidyalaya in Ahmednagar district of Maharashtra have been found infected with the coronavirus. A senior official has given this information. The residential school, located at Takli Dhokeshwar village in Parner tehsil of the district, is part of the Navodaya Vidyalaya network, which comes under the Union Ministry of Education, the official said.
The school has more than 400 students from class 5th to 12th. District Magistrate Rajendra Bhosale said, “In the last three to four days, 19 students have been found infected. All have been sent to quarantine and admitted to the hospital. Most of the infected students had no symptoms of the disease and some had only mild symptoms.
The havoc of Corona is increasing continuously in Maharashtra. The government has banned the gathering of more than five people in public places from 9 pm to 6 am on Friday. On Friday, before Christmas, the government's new guideline has come into effect from midnight. At the same time, new guidelines have also been issued by the Mumbai Municipal Commissioner regarding Corona. It has been said that there will be no party or celebration on Christmas and New Year.
As per the order of the Mumbai Municipal Corporation, there will be no Christmas party, New Year celebration, any function or public gathering across Mumbai. Whether in the open or indoors, no Christmas or New Year's party will be permitted anywhere. This order has been implemented in Mumbai from 12 midnight.
Significantly, on Friday, 1,410 new cases of coronavirus infection were reported in the state, out of which 20 cases are of Omicron form of infection. The number of daily cases of Kovid-19 increased to more than 200 as of Thursday.
