India, New Delhi, Aug 28: Prime Minister Narendra Modi addressed India on Sunday through the 23rd Aug, 2016 issue of his monthly special Mann Ki Baat. The focus was mostly on the Olympic players, importance of teacher’s day. The show's first installment was aired on All India Radio, DD National, and DD News on October 3 last year, 2015.

PM Modi shared the mobile link of the show on Sunday morning through his official twitter account.

The highlights are as follows todays Mann ki Baat are:

-Lot of people are writing about Ganesh Chaturthi & Durga Puja vis-a-vis the environment showing their concern over pollution.

-My handwriting is not that good. I have immense respect for people with good handwriting.

-Mai Pullela Gopichand ji ko, unki tapasya ko, khel ke prati unke samarpan ko salute karta hoon.

-Teachers are as important as mothers in our lives. They spend their lives caring for their students.

-For me, 5th September is not only Teachers Day but a day of learning as well.

-It is very good to know that our nation wants us to focus on extracurricular activities.

-Dipa Karmakar stood at 4th position, kamaal kar diya: PM Modi talks about Gymnast Dipa Karmakar.

-We have to go a long way when it comes to focusing on Sports. Sports needs motivation and public is the best entity to do it: PM

-We won Rio Olympics medals, our daughters proved themselves once again, that they are not less than anyone.

-Kal Hockey ke jaadugar Dhyan Chand ji ki janmatithi hai, ye din rashtriya khel divas ke roop mein manaya jata hai: PM Modi

Earlier, he had asked the public to post the topics that they would like to hear about and public requested Prime Minister to talk on Tokyo 2020, Kashmir issue, border issues, religion and educational reforms.
