New Delhi: Sumitra Mahajan Speaker of lok sabha on Monday 24th july suspended six Congress members because of their restive behaviour.

The action against them was taken after they created an interruption in the Lok Sabha and threw paper and disrupted proceedings during Zero Hour.

Six Opposition MPs have been suspended from Lok Sabha for five days.

A visibly angry Speaker then suspended them and adjourned Lok Sabha till 2:30 pm. The Congress leaders could be seen disrespecting the Lok Sabha speaker Sumitra Mahajan and threw papers on Maharajan’s face. She said the members had “persistently and wilfully” disrupted the House by tearing and throwing papers towards the chair, causing grave disorder, the Speaker ruled out suspension of the Question Hour and asked the members to go back to their seats.

The six MP have been suspended who are:  Gaurav Gogoi, Adhir Ranjan Chowdhury, Ranjit Ranjan, Sushmita Dev, MK Raghav and K Suresh.

The interruption comes on the day when a truck was set on fire by a crowd on the suspicion of carrying cow flesh. The truck first met with an accident. When the people came to see the truck, they found meat stored in it. The crowd suspected that the meat was beef.
