A black-and-white photo of Prime Minister Narendra Modi holding a broom and cleaning floor had gone viral in around 2014. BJP supporters even used this particular picture in the run up to the Lok Sabha polls as a part of their election campaign.

Facts Check Analysis:

This fake image of PM Modi is quite old, where in the photo shopped picture of PM Modi shows him sweeping the ground. It went viral during 2014 Lok Sabha elections.

The news is back again after India TV ran a shown on January 23, where the channel ran a 20 minutes special broadcast of Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s life. India Tv used photograph of the altered PM Modi pictures sweeping the floor.

The video is still available on the Hindi version of indiatvnews.

An RTI filed by jantakareporter, has revealed that the image was a photoshopped. The person in the picture was not the current Prime Minister of India, it is not of Narendra Modi.

The RTI reply said, “…It is stated while the information sought does not form part of records, it may be noted that the said photograph is morphed and the person in the photo is not Mr Narendra Modi.”
