Yet another India Safia Majeed, who celebrated India's T20 defeat, sacked: Technician at Rajouri Medical College

Action has been taken against another government employee who celebrated India's defeat in the World Cup T20 match. This action has been taken against Safia Majeed, the staff of Government Medical College located in Rajouri district of Jammu. Safia Majeed was posted here as a technician of the operation theatre.

After India's defeat on 24 October 2021 (Sunday), Safia Majeed posted a video celebrating Pakistan's victory on her WhatsApp status. Within no time this status went viral. According to media reports, the cognizance of this matter was also taken by the Principal of the Medical College along with DSP Headquarters Rajouri. After investigation, it was finally decided to sack Safia Majeed. This order has been given by Brij Mohan, Principal of GMC Rajouri.

The dismissal order of Safia Majeed states that “A viral video has come to the notice of DSP Headquarters, Rajouri from various social media platforms. This video is related to Miss Safia Majeed who is working as Operation Theater Technician in GMC and AH. It seems from the video that Safia Majeed has expressed her happiness over the Indian cricket team's defeat against Pakistan in the T20 World Cup 2021 on her WhatsApp status. This is an anti-national activity and tantamount to betrayal to the nation."

It has been said in the order that no employee of the institute can be exempted from such acts against the country. It is being told that on October 21, 2021 (Thursday), Safia Majeed had taken a leave of 5 days. But even after five days, she has not returned to duty. Such an act without prior notice is also considered gross indiscipline in duty. On this basis, Safia Majeed was dismissed from the job on 27 October 2021 (Wednesday).

Sharing a letter on his Twitter handle, Aditya Raj Kaul has described it as the letter of dismissal of Safia Majeed.
