Tokyo: After creating history by winning a gold medal at the Tokyo Olympics 2020, India’s javelin thrower Neeraj Chopra is likely to add another feather to his cap.
Neeraj, who became India’s only second individual gold medallist in the history of the Olympics, posted a tweet with two pictures from Tokyo after his victory. His tweet could break the record for the 'most liked' tweet of Virat Kohli. The Indian cricket captain's tweet of announcing his wife Anushka Sharma's pregnancy had received over 6.3 lakh likes in 2020.

He wrote on Sunday (August 8), “Still processing this feeling. To all of India and beyond, thank you so much for your support and blessings that have helped me reach this stage. This moment will live with me forever.”
Along with this, he posted two pictures – one celebrating with his gold medal and the other standing on the podium with the silver and bronze medallists.
This tweet of Neeraj has so far garnered over 3.34 lakh likes at the time of writing this report on Monday (August 9). The tweet continues to gain attention on the micro-blogging website.

With a throw of 87.58 metres, the 23-year-old Neeraj won the gold in Japan. India ended its Olympics campaign with its best-ever medal tally of seven (1 gold, 2 silver, 4 bronze). It was placed 48th while the US topped the table with 113 medals.
Neeraj was competing in his first Olympics. He hails from Khandra village in Panipat, Haryana. His father is a farmer. Neeraj took to athletics to lose weight. Neeraj is the first Indian athlete to win gold in track and field events in Olympics.
