American Airlines Passenger detained for trying to break into cockpit
New York: An American passenger was detained on Saturday after he was trying to breach into the cockpit of an American Airlines.
An off duty police officer and Crew members on the American Airlines Flight 31 took the American passenger into custody for causing disturbance on the flight from Los Angeles International Airport to Hawaii on Friday morning.
Caused by this disturbance the crew requested the enforcement meet the aircraft upon landing in Honolulu.
As per the reports, the man tried to break through the cockpit door, before he could do so he was being subdued by the flight crew members and an off-duty police officer.
The Department of Homeland Security tweeted
The Secretary has been briefed on the incident today with American Airlines Flight 31. The aircraft is currently on the ground, and the individual who disrupted the flight has been detained. DHS is prepared to assist other federal and local law enforcement agencies as they investigate the incident. At this time, there are no other reports of disruptions to flights. We continue t monitor all flights out of an abundance of caution and will provide updates as necessary.
